Ecotourism at La Pedregoza

Ecotourism, Agrotourism and Adventure Tourism all-in-one

Ecolodge at La Pedregoza La Pedregoza is a 2,013 hectare (5,000 acre) tree plantation in Vichada, Colombia. We also operate a 1,000 hectare (2,470 acre) natural reserve, registered with Colombia´s national parks system. At present we have 691 species of flora and fauna registered inside La Pedregoza, with many others still to be cataloged, so we're a biodiversity and bird watching paradise. We thought it would be a good idea to invite ecotourism devotees to visit the plantation and the natural reserve for an unforgettable, off the beaten path, nature, agrotourism and adventure tourism experience.

Ecotourism and Birdwatching:

Ecotourism at La Pedregoza Opportunities at La Pedregoza include morichal penetrations, hikes in the inundation and gallery forests of the Rio Bita, the world´s first protected river, savanna hikes, refreshing dips in jungle pools, anaconda, crocodile and piranha swims, bird watching, hugging endangered tree species, kayak trips in the inundation forest or up caños, spectacular beaches, amazing sunsets, classes on native tree lore and so much more (activities depend on the season).

Pooballs at La Pedregoza La Pedregoza practices natural silviculture, which means we are 100% organic, without the use of agrochemicals or herbicides. We create our own fertilizers, using recipes that are 1,000's of years old, while also doing many experiments on how to improve poor tropical soils for greater sustainability. Our plantation works with WWF (World Wildlife Fund), TNC (The Nature Conservancy), GEF (Global Environment Facility) and others to promote sustainable forestry practices.
